WARRINGTON Hospital has been ranked in the top 20 trusts in the country for treating lung diseases.

The specialist respiratory team at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has been placed 18th of 137 across the UK in the latest National COPD Audit Programme.

Overall, the team achieved a score of 79 per cent for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients.

Trust executive medical director Professor Simon Constable said: "This is a fantastic nationally benchmarked achievement for our patients, our team and the trust - especially when considered against significant winter pressures.
