A THRIVING hairdressers has outgrown their home on Widnes Market.

Creme de la Creme is expanding and opening a second salon on Albert Road next month.

Owner Kathryn Carney, 35, said: "We have taken on so many employees, our market space is too small for us.

"I work closely with Riverside College and provide placements, work experience and apprenticeships."

The mum-of-three moved into the market hall three years ago and says it is a brilliant location for a business.

"We are very lucky where we are, we have a lot of passing trade," said Kathryn, from Warrington.

"There is huge competition among hairdressers in Widnes. We are looking to be that little bit different."

Her business won prestigious awards at the British Hair and Beauty Awards last year.

The salon was named salon of the year for the north west and Kathryn was crowned hair stylist of the year.

Riverside College students who work a the salon also achieved success.

Jack Steele, 18, was named junior stylist of the year and Leah Buckley, 19, won apprentice of the year.

Senior stylist Karen Carberry, 33, is off to Italy shortly to take part in Milan Fashion Week.

Seven new jobs have been created as the salon prepares to host an open evening on Thursday, March 1, at 7pm.

"We're going to offer master classes, pamper parties and one stop clinics," added Kathryn.

"A qualified nurse will be offering microblading, botox, lip fillers and much more."

Vouchers and giveaways will be handed out during the open evening.
