HALTON tribute band Take Phat has raised more than £3,000 to help prevent young people taking their own lives.

The group performed their Christmas party extravaganza to a sell-out crowd at The Brindley.

Their concert raised £3,045 for national charity Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide whose head office is based in Warrington.

Ged Flynn, Papyrus chief executive, from Widnes, said, ‘I am so very moved by the commitment these lads have to our charity.

“I was also very touched by the number of people who stopped us on the way out of the gig to donate another £400 to our after-party bucket collection.

“Every penny will go to support our work to prevent suicide among young people.

“Well done Halton, you have once again helped us to save young lives.”
