MOTORISTS travelling on the M62 are facing long delays after a lorry broke down.
Two lanes were blocked and traffic was at a standstill following the incident on the M62 westbound between junction seven, on Warrington Road, and junction six, on the Knowsley Expressway.
The incident was initially reported as an accident but it turned out to be a broken down lorry.
The lorry has now been removed and all lanes are back open but delays remain in the area.
Congestion is reported as far back as junction nine at Winwick with delays of 90 minutes reported.
