FOLLOWING yesterday's tragic news regarding the death of new Widnes Vikings signing Kato Ottio, the club has set up a Crowdfunding page in his memory.
The rugby league world has been left in shock after the Papua New Guinea international died aged 23.
The club say the aim of the Crowdfunder is to raise money for Kato's family in Papua New Guinea.
A statemened adds: "Every penny that is collected will be given to his loved ones, to help support them at this difficult time and into the future.
"We hope that this collection will demonstrate the genuine love and respect that is held for Kato, who tragically left us too early, and will make a real difference.
"With thanks from Widnes Vikings to all in the great Rugby League community."
On days like this, you see the incredible community in our great sport. Thank you to everyone who has shared their respect for Kato. We will ensure that his family knows about the great kindness from supporters across the world. #RIPKato ⚫️⚪️ 🇵🇬 pic.twitter.com/GbJt41hFdc
