PARENTS are learning new craft skills with the help of tutors from Halton Council.

A series of workshops are being held at Children’s Centres across Runcorn and Widnes.

Mums and dads are being shown how to recycle baby clothes and turn them into new garments in courses such as Babygro Keepsakes.

Parents say it has been a great way to socialise and learn new skills, safe in the knowledge their little ones are being looked after at the onsite crèche.

Halton Cllr Eddie Jones, board member for adult learning, said: "Not only are local residents learning but also doing their bit to help the environment by recycling their children’s old babygrows.

“This course also helps them to make something personal and unique for them to treasure.”
