AN angry Runcorn driver accused of shouting a tirade of vile abuse at a female paramedic appeared at Warrington Magistrates today.
Colin Anderson, 50, of Stenhills Crescent, is alleged to have shouted at an emergency worker for blocking Union Street with her ambulance.
Anderson has denied using threatening, abusive and insulting words and behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence towards paramedic Lisa Campbell.
Mr Rob Youds prosecuting said Anderson initially became aggressive with the daughter of the person being treated by paramedics on November 12.
Paramedic Lisa Campbell came out onto the street and said Anderson was verbally abusive and aggressive towards her.
Anderson’s behaviour was captured on camera by a witness.
Julian Tutchener-Ellis, defending, said Anderson admits he used abusive behaviour but said it was directed towards a third party, not a paramedic named in the charge.
Anderson was remanded on unconditional bail until March 16, 2018 for trial at Warrington Magistrates Court.
