THREE men have been charged in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in Runcorn.

The victim was sat in the passenger seat of a silver Ford Mondeo on Thursday night when a light blue car pulled up next to him.

A passenger who was in the back seat of the blue car then got out of the vehicle and walked towards the victim’s car.

The man then threatened the victim, demanding that he got out of the car, before shooting him in the left calf.

Horan, 27, Wayne Griffiths, 28 and Sean Davies, 30, have all been charged with section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

Davies has also been charged with possession with intent to supply class B drugs.

Horan of Greenbridge Close, Runcorn; Griffiths of Gaunts Way, Runcorn; and Davies of Greenbridge Close, Runcorn and have all been remanded in police custody and are set to appear at North Cheshire Magistrates’ Court later today, Monday, December 4.

Griffiths has appeared in custody before Warrington Magistrates today  and been remanded to Chester Crown Court for trial on January 5.

Prosecuting Rob Youds said the 16-year-old victim had suffered ‘life changing injuries’.

Horan and Davies were both remanded in custody this afternoon until January 5 for trial.
