A MAN was attacked and threatened with a knife by a gang in a terrifying ordeal.

The victim, in his 60s, was approached by three men on Chester Close, Castlefields in Runcorn, at the junction with Beaumaris Way.

The trio, thought to be in their late teens or early 20s assaulted him and threatened him with a knife.

The incident happened at around 2pm on Thursday, November 9.

The suspects were all white and wore dark coloured jackets, tracksuit bottoms and trainers. One had short dark hair and was wearing a black parker style jacket with a fur lined hood, another had long dark hair and the third had long blond or ginger hair.

Detective Constable Adam Norton said: “This was an unprovoked attack carried out in broad daylight in the middle of the street.

“The victim is in his 60s and unlikely to offer any real resistance to these young men.

“Violent crime is a priority for Cheshire Police and we are committed to doing all we can to trace those responsible.

“This took place in the middle of the afternoon in a residential street so I would appeal to anyone who was in that area and may have witnessed what happened or has seen anything significant to get in touch.”
