A COMPUTER recycling company in Runcorn has won a prestigious national award.

Computer Disposals Limited (CDL) was named Data Erase Company of the Year 2017 at the Computing Security Awards.

The success follows a double triumph earlier this year when the company won Halton Business of the Year and Astmoor Business Improvement District Business of the Year.

The company is based in a new property on Davy Road following a seven figure funding deal with Nat West and a grant from Halton Council.

Owner Jean-Pierre Naylor said: “Since moving into our new state of the art facility in 2015 we have exceeded all targets and expectations and have seen staff numbers grow from 52 to 88 and are still recruiting.

“Winning Halton Business of the Year was a fantastic achievement for us and this latest award confirms our status within our industry as one of the leading IT disposal companies in the UK.”

Mr Naylor and two partners founded the firm from their own garages at home in 1999, storing equipment in a bathroom.

The firm recorded 20 per cent growth last year and is confident of similar success in the coming 12 months.

Mr Naylor added: “I would like to thank everyone who voted for us and also everyone at WhiteCanyon and the technical team at CDL who have made this happen.

“With the pending general data protection regulation legislation many companies are having to take steps regarding data protection.

“This award strengthens our own belief that together with white canyon we can provide one of the most secure asset retirement solutions in our industry.”
