A SPECIAL celebration has been held to mark the 100th birthday of a Widnes resident.
Lillian Beardsmore shared her milestone achievement with residents at Halton View Care Home on Sadler Street.
A room was decorated with bunting for a party and a singer provided live entertainment.
The mayor and mayoress of Halton Cllrs Alan and Joan Lowe personally delivered a telegram from the queen to mark her centenary.
Home manager Amanda Kelly said: “Lilian has been with us for just over four years and lives on our specialist dementia suite.
“She had a lovely birthday and everyone enjoyed celebrating it with her.
“We’d like to thank the mayor and mayoress for visiting and sharing in Lilian’s special day.”
