BURGLARS smashed their way into a Widnes food store in an early morning raid.
Police said today that three men arrived at the Co-op on Hale Road at 3.30am on Wednesday, October 11, in a silver Audi A4 estate.
The gang used cutting equipment to get through the external shutters and smashed a glass door to break into the building.
The men entered the store and cut open the back of a cash machine and removed money before fleeing the scene.
The getaway car was spotted travelling along the M57 and was last seen in the Tarbock and Huyton areas of Liverpool.
The trio wore black clothing.
Detectives are now appealing for information.
