A VINTAGE and classic vehicle show inspired by a brave little boy has raised £735 for charity.

Joshy Berry, five, has a very rain brain disorder, polymicrogyria, and epilepsy but never stops smiling.

Around 75 cars and 20 scooters and motorcycles took part in the event at the Childe of Hale pub in Hale village.

Organiser train driver Ian Trimble, 49, of Crabtree Close, said: “We had a great day.

“Joshy even got to have a ride in a 1960s Mustang with his dad Mark.

He was smiling all the way round and his mum and dad could not get him out of the car.”

Joshy’s uncle Ian Berry, from Upton Rocks, is the partner of Ian Trimble’s daughter Emma.

The Lord Mayor of Hale Paul Turton turned up to show his support and spoke to Joshy and his family.

Joshy’s mum Louise, 24, who gave a talk on his brain disease, said: “We want to raise awareness of Joshy’s condition and hopefully one day they will find a cure.

“He can’t walk very far and has minimum use of his hands but he doesn’t let anything get him down.

“He is a bubbly little boy.”

Money raised will be shared between Polymicrogyria Family Support and an epilepsy charity.
