A RUNCORN church is celebrating 125 years in the community.
St Michael and All Angels Church on Greenway Road was consecrated in 1892.
A choral evensong was held on Friday to mark the historic milestone.
The service was led by vicar Rev Vicki Schofield with the Bishop of Chester, the Rt Rev Dr Peter Forster preaching.
The mayor and mayoress of Halton Cllrs Alan and Joan Lowe and the mayor’s chaplain Rev Ray Jones were among the special guests.
People from churches across the diocese also attended.
A flower festival was held as part of the celebrations with businesses, parishioners and people in the community staging displays.
