RUNCORN band The Fireflys return to the Brindley Theatre this month to play a special one-off show chronicling the last 10 years of the bands music.

Formed in 2007 by frontman Lee Wylding, the cult indie band have gone from strength to strength over the last decade, from releasing 5 albums of original music, playing arenas, to signing a deal with Strawberry Moon records.

The band - now a six piece, have gigged and recorded relentlessly over the past 10 years and feel like the next chapter is just beginning.

Songwriter Lee, from Weston Point, said: "We've seen many local bands fall by the wayside over the last 10 years but we're still going strong, and will continue to do so.

“When your music is broadcast all over the world, on radio and TV and plays out from football stadiums, it's incredible and also very encouraging.

"I see no reason why the next 10 years can't be as successful as the first.

“We've gained quite a cult following and for that we are very fortunate."

The band plays The Brindley on Friday October 27 and tickets are available from the box office on 0151 907 8360 or online at thebrindley.org.uk.
