A CELEBRATION has been held to mark the achievements of a long-serving Runcorn employee.

Ed Starkey joined Tall Security Print on Manor Park in Runcorn 25 years ago as a small offset printer, supervising a single colour printing press.

After rising through the ranks, the 45-year-old is now print manager responsible for the day to day operations, whilst managing 13 staff.

Working his way up, Ed managed a range of larger machinery including the multi colour continuous web process and has worked in every area of production including finishing and dispatch.

The Runcorn office also holds special personal memories as it was where he met his wife Lorna, who works in the commercial department.

Ed, from Widnes, said: “I left school on the Friday and started work on the Monday morning and I haven’t looked back.

“My attitude to hard work and my commitment to continuously improve has stood me in good stead over the years.

“I have enjoyed my time at Tall Security Print immensely. It is a fantastic company to work for and I have always been given the opportunity to progress and take on new challenges along the way.

“Print production has been my life and I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career.”

Ed was presented with a certificate and vouchers at a special ceremony.

Martin Ruda, managing director of The Tall group of companies, said: “For a quarter of a century Ed has played a key role in our ability to constantly provide high levels of service to our customers.

“His positive attitude and dedication over the past 25 years has set a fantastic example to his colleagues.

“On behalf of myself and my fellow directors, I would like to express my appreciation and I’m sure he will play a key role in our future success.”
