A HOUSE Music fan will be a DJ at Creamfields dance festival for the eighth consecutive year this weekend.

Runcorn dad Paul Nunn is an electrician by trade and has turned his love of music into a hobby.

The 40-year-old will be on stage in the local heroes tent this evening, the artist village on Saturday and sub aural on Sunday as well as playing in the hospitality tent throughout the three days.

“To have the opportunity to play to such a big crowd at Creamfields is amazing,” said Paul, 40, of Weston Crescent.

“Everyone is there to party and have a great time. People travel from all over the UK and Europe to be at the festival so we get sent a lot of amazing music and always throw a few classic tracks in.”

The former Norton Priory pupil has had a love of house music since his early teens.

“I used to spend any pocket money I had on DJ mixed taps of Carl Cox, DJ Vertigo, Sasha and Dave Graham who inspired me to want to become a DJ.

“After building a good collection of records up over the years I convinced my parents to buy me some turntables.”

Paul, who enjoys playing soulful, Deep House and Tech House, was a DJ at various venues and landed his first break through Dave Graham’s Juice FM Radio show.

“I sent him a few mixes of mine which he aired on several occasions and was then asked by Dave to play at a venue alongside him and it continued from there,” he said.

Teaming up with fellow DJ partner James Glover, the pair played in Prague, Ibiza and various other festivals.

Paul is a resident DJ for an event called Giraffe and has also warmed up for DJs such as Patrick Topping, Heidi, Steve Lawler, Richy Ahmed, wAFF and Christoph.

“Creamfields is the most interesting festival as the music is so varied and I get to play a few different styles of house music,” said Paul, who got married in 2014 and has a 17-month-old son Rafe.

“My wife Gemma is very supportive of my music and DJing. Our wedding was in Ibiza, a place which is very close to our hearts and we love to visit at least once a year.

“I don’t camp at Creamfields. I go home to recharge myself and return the next day. I’m 40 now after all!”
