STUDENTS at St Chad’s Catholic and Church of England High School have achieved an excellent set of A-level results.
Sixth formers also performed well in level 3 BTEC and the level 3 CACHE course which enables students to gain employment in early years education.
The results have ensured that all students wishing to progress to university or to an apprenticeship have secured a place. Others have secured employment.
Some 60 per cent of students achieved A* to C grades and an overall pass rate of 89 per cent A* to E.
Several students gained the highest grade of an A* at A2 or equivalent while many others performed exceptionally well.
Head teacher Michael Paziuk said: “We are delighted with this year’s results which reflect the hard work of all students and staff.”
Jamie Lewis achieved two As and a C at A2, Abbie Swain achieved two As and a B at A2, Lewis Weedon gained A*, A and a B at A2, Derryn Gibney achieved A, B and C at A2.
The school said the results confirm the finding in their recent Ofsted report in which inspectors said: “Preparation for further education, employment and training is a clear strength of the sixth form.”
