THE finalists have been announced for the 10th anniversary of Halton’s Got Talent.

More than 100 hopefuls entered the talent show organised by Halton Council.

After 63 auditions, judges had the difficult task of whittling down the applicants to 20 finalists all hoping for stardom.

Former winner Beau Dermott went on to win the hearts of the nation on Britain’s Got Talent.

The 13-year-old has had her voice insured for £1 million as she releases her debut album Brave next month.

Solo performers, singing and dancing duos and a singing group hope to follow in her footsteps as they compete at The Brindley on Saturday, September 2.

Halton Cllr Marie Wright, board member for health and wellbeing, said: “Once again the standard at the auditions was extremely high and we are delighted with the number of people who took part across the age groups.

“The finalists should all be very proud and it promises to be a brilliant final."

Judging the last audition were Halton’s Got Talent first winner, Charlotte McKelvie, who was guest judge, along with Cllr Wright, actress Sue Devaney and Jayne Eley from The Brindley.

Charlotte gave singer Ella McEvitt her golden buzzer and Jayne used hers for Imogen Atkinson who sang a song from Disney's Little Mermaid. Her mum, the judges and shoppers were all emotional at her performance.
