A COMMUNITY group that has supported hundreds of stroke survivors has reached an historic milestone.
Members held a special celebration to mark the 20th anniversary of Halton’s Let’s Go Stroke Club.
The mayor and mayoress of Halton Cllrs Alan and Joan Lowe were guests of honour.
Club founder and honorary life president Bob Bryant and his wife Carole returned from their home in Devon to join the birthday party at the Select Security Stadium.
Vocalist Dave Osborne provided entertainment as members danced and enjoyed a buffet.
Bob, formerly from Runcorn, said: “It has been great to come back and see all our old friends again.
“I never imagined when I jointly founded the club that we would be here celebrating our 20th anniversary.”
The club provides support for stroke victims and their carers.
Volunteers organise holidays and day trips.
A monthly social evening at the Select Security Stadium on the second Wednesday of the month between 8pm and 10pm and free transport is available.
