A MAN was left seriously injured after being assaulted by a gang in Runcorn.
The 45-year-old was attacked by a group of men near a supermarket on Ridgeway in Murdishaw.
Police say he suffered serious injuries and was taken to Warrington Hospital.
The attack happened at around 4.35pm yesterday.
Detective Constable John Verry, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “This was a vicious and targeted daylight attack on a lone man which resulted in the victim having to go to hospital to be treated.
“I would urge anyone who saw the assault and has not yet spoken to officers to contact me.”
Anyone with any information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 1011 of August 10.
