THE final countdown to the launch of Phoenix Park Xperience is now under way.

Organised by PC Zoe Bowden and PC Suzi Williams, the aim of the event is to showcase the range of activities and facilities open to families and young people in Runcorn.

Festivities will start on August 4 on Phoenix Park from 11am to 3pm.

PC Bowden said: “The summer holidays can sometimes be an expensive time for parents and it’s often difficult to keep the kids entertained, which is where PPX can help.

"With activities ranging from cheerleading to cycling you can be sure that there will be something to keep your children active without adding an extra burden to your wallet.

“In addition to entertaining the kids, the event also provides a great opportunity to meet with your officers and PCSOs and discuss any issues and concerns that you may have.”

PC Suzi Williams added: "PPX is a new concept and we hope that by running it we can provide families and young people with just some ideas on how they can get involved in activities in their community while having fun at the same time.

“All of the activities are free of charge and open to children of all ages and abilities.

"We’ll have a huge range of attractions including Rampworx Skate Park, Spartans American football and Widnes Vikings along with local boxing and cheerleading clubs.

“We’ll also have a number of activities aimed at younger people, with free face painting, birds of prey and a children’s fairground."

There will also be a number of stalls from partner agencies including Liverpool Housing Trust, the Army, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service and Halton Sports Development.
