A ROBBER armed with a knife threatened staff at a Runcorn shop.
Police have released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to following the robbery in Murdishaw.
A man was challenged by staff who suspected him of shoplifting at a store in Ridgeway West shortly before 2pm on June 15.
As the staff tried to prevent him from leaving he pulled out a knife and fled the scene.
The suspect is described as approximately 50 years old, around 6ft tall with a receding hairline and grey hair.
He has a slim build and was wearing a checked shirt and a high-visibility jacket and carrying a large red bag for life.
Detective constable Katie Wardle said: “The staff were left shocked by the incident, but thankfully were unharmed.
“I would appeal to anyone who recognises this man or has any information that may help to contact me so that I can progress with my enquiries and bring the offender before the courts.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Wardle on 101, quoting incident number 480 of June 15.
Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
