THE angelic voice that captured the hearts of the nation has been insured for £1 million.

Widnes singing sensation Beau Dermott has signed a major deal with Decca records to release her debut album, Brave next month.

The 13-year-old shot to fame when her spine-tingling audition on Britain’s Got Talent last year earned her a golden buzzer from judge Amanda Holden, now Beau’s mentor, straight into the live semi finals.

The YouTube clip of the Cronton star’s performance of Defying Gravity from the hit musical Wicked has an astounding 24 million views.

Beau’s astonishing voice is already insured for £1 million by Lloyds of London to ensure it is protected.

Tom Lewis, director of A&R at Decca, said: “Beau’s voice is one in a million – and that’s why it needs insuring!

“Having such an incredible talent at such a young age is truly remarkable and we’re looking forward to working with Beau as she develops into a young star.”

Former Cronton CE Primary School pupil Beau caught the attention of record producers when she performed at Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th birthday celebration concert at the London Palladium.

Beau’s dad Ian, 53, said: “Beau is very excited. She has had a lot of fun doing the album. She has learnt a lot. Recording is so different to singing live but she took to it like a duck to water.”

The gifted singer is set to perform all over the world.

“Decca has recognised Beau’s special talent,” he said. “They are like a family and have her best interests at heart. We are very happy to be working with them.”

The album, released on August 25, features 14 tracks including Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton and I Dreamed a Dream from Les Miserables.

“Beau has worked really hard for this,” added Ian. “She can pick up a song in two days and know it.

“It is remarkable. She is taking it all in her stride and maturing into a young lady.”

Beau is organising her second charity concert at the Philharmonic Hall in Liverpool on October 12 for Cancer Research UK after her dad, now recovering from surgery, postponed lifesaving treatment to give her the chance to become a star.
