A CHARITY bag pack has raised more than £800 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Staff from care homes spent the day on the checkouts at Morrisons helping customers with their packing.
Generous shoppers donated £835.59 with all proceeds going towards research and support for people living with dementia.
Staff from Hill Care Group homes Halton View on Sadler Street in Widnes and Simonsfield on Boston Avenue in Runcorn joined colleagues from Bolton and Worsley at the event in Morrisons St Helens.
The funds will add to the company’s year-long campaign for the charity which has so far raised more than over £5,000.
Their efforts will culminate in a 330-mile cycle ride from London to Paris by Hill Care managing director Wendy Waddicor from July 19 to 22.
Wendy, who took part in the bag pack, said: “The Morrisons bag pack was a huge success helping us to exceed our original target of raising £5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Society.
“It was a long day at the checkouts but worth it when you think we raised so much for a charity so close to all our hearts.”
