TWO mountain bikes were stolen from a shed in Widnes.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the overnight theft from the back garden of a house on Trinity Place.

Officers believe the bikes were taken between 11.30pm on Wednesday and 6.40am on Thursday.

One of the bikes is a yellow Vitus Dominer 1 with a black frame.

The other bike is a bright green Commencal Supreme DH V3.

Inspector Chris Adkins, from Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: "If anyone saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around the time the bikes were stolen or may have seen them please get in touch with officers so we can return them to their owner.

“I would encourage residents to consider making it more difficult for thieves by having flood lights fitted or gravel on the drive.

“It is also worth investing in bike marking kits so that if your bike is recovered by us we can return it to you.

“Following these security checks can go a long way in helping to keep your property safe and free from opportunists.”
