Firefighters tackle fire in bin storage area at The Deck flats on Mersey Road, Runcorn
FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire in a bin storage area at a block of flats in Runcorn.
Crews were called to The Deck on Mersey Road shortly after 8pm last night.
They found a movable skip ablaze and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
Two fire engines from Runcorn, one from Widnes and one from Penketh attended the incident along with an aerial ladder platform from Stockton Heath.
Crews checked flats above the burning bin store for smoke due to windows being open.
A thermal imaging camera was also used to check the area.
