AN unsung hero in education has been recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Angela Paget, from Prescot, who previously worked as the head teacher of St Bedes Catholic Junior School in Widnes, has been awarded an OBE for services to education.
This year’s list recognises more than 1,000 people for commitment to public service.
The honourees this year also include policeman Keith Palmer, who was killed after confronting the Westminster attacker outside Parliament, and the heroic passer-by Bernard Kenny, who was stabbed trying to protect MP Jo Cox.
We would love to hear from those from Runcorn and Widnes recognised in the Queen's Birthday Honours list. Email lauren.hirst@nqnw.co.uk.
