A NUMBER of road closures will be in place today as Sir Elton John comes to Widnes.
The Rocket Man will play the Select Security Stadium tonight as part of his Wonderful Crazy Night tour.
A number of roads in the vicinity of the stadium will be shut later today for safety reasons.
Lower House Lane will be closed northbound between Milton Road and Liverpool Road from 2pm to 9pm, during which time the southbound carriageway will be open for drop offs and residents’ access only.
The road will then shut both ways between 9pm and 11pm except for southbound taxis and residents’ access.
Meanwhile, Caldwell Road will be closed northbound from 9pm to 11pm between Oak Place and Moor Lane and will be available as a pick-up point southbound.
