A RECRUITMENT agency is in line to win a top award for a social media campaign designed to highlight the dangers of drink driving.

Drivers Direct Recruitment, based on Taylors Row off Halton Road in Runcorn, has been shortlisted for the best use of social media prize at the Global Recruiter UK Industry Awards.

It comes after the driver recruitment specialist launched a campaign in November with posters showing striking images of the potentially disastrous effects of getting behind the wheel after drinking, ahead of the Christmas season.

The posters were then made available to download and use for free and were also shared on Twitter.

Managing director Gethin Roberts said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be shortlisted for the award for best use of social media.

“We are great believers in the power of social media and our successful use of platforms throughout 2016 and 2017 has displayed the effectiveness of social media use within business and spread the important message of safe driving.”
