A VISIT to Chester Zoo has inspired elderly residents to get a fish tank of their own.
A dozen residents and staff from Halton View Care Home enjoyed seeing some of the most extinct and endangered animals from all over the world.
The zoo is home to 15,000 animals from 500 different species.
Abigail Murphy, activities coordinator at the home on Sadler Street, said: “Everyone had a lovely time visiting Chester Zoo. It’s always a great day trip and especially when the weather is as lovely as it has been.
“After visiting the aquarium, residents have decided they may like a fish tank for the dementia unit. Trips like these always really stimulate their interests.
“It’s great to see them lively and animated for days afterwards, talking about the animals with those who couldn’t come along.”
