A LARGE cannabis farm has been discovered in Runcorn.
Police officers executed a warrant at an address on Castner Avenue, Weston Point, at around 8am this morning.
Whilst carrying out a detailed search of the premises officers discovered a significant quantity of cannabis plants.
A 28-year-old man was charged with the production of cannabis.
Thanh Tat Nguyen, of Castner Avenue, appeared before West Cheshire Magistrates Court in Chester on Tuesday.
He denied being involved in the production of 269 cannabis plants and was committed to a crown court for trial and was remanded in custody.
PC Lucy Kennedy said: “We know the negative impact that illegal drug use and supply can have in the local community and it is an issue we take extremely seriously.
“Information from members of the public is vital in the fight against drug related crime and members of the public can rest assured that our efforts in tackling drug related crime will continue.
“Anyone with any information about drug related crime in Runcorn is urged to come forward and report it."
