A PROFESSIONAL make-up artist returned to his old school to inspire pupils.

Michael Perks, who has worked in bridal, film, fashion and photographic make up artistry, has become the 10th former student to join the Hall of Fame at Moorfield Primary School.

The 23-year-old, from Halton View, won a scholarship to Hammond Theatre School for dance, drama and music after leaving Fairfield School.

The gifted singer gave pupils and staff an inspirational assembly and performed his version of the S Club 7 song Reach for The Stars.

Head teacher Kathryn Heyes said: “I taught Michael when he was a pupil at Moorfield and it was clear to see, even then, that he had a big personality and plenty of drive and ambition.

“I’m proud to see what a charismatic young man he has turned into. He is a shining example of what hard work can achieve.

“All of our pupils and staff thoroughly enjoyed Michael’s assembly.

“I’m certain that his enthusiasm for his chosen career will have rubbed off on our present pupils.”

Michael, who recently opened a large new make-up studio on Victoria Road, now employs 13 staff.

He was head make-up artist for Kolchagov Barba’s AW17 all black collection at this year’s London Fashion Show.

It was the third time he has been invited to work at the prestigious event and hopes to do more fashion weeks in New York, Paris and Milan.
