A NEW police action day in Widnes has been hailed a huge success.
Extra officers patrolled the Afton area of Hough Green to launch Cheshire Police’s Street a Week initiative.
It was a chance for residents to raise any concerns and get to know Widnes Local Policy Unit’s neighbourhood policing team.
The Cheshire Police exhibition vehicle was parked up for people to get crime prevention advice and information.
PCSO Hannah Forrest-Temerlies, who patrols Hough Green ward, said: “Feedback from both staff and the community was very positive.
“We had lots of visitors to the exhibition vehicle. We managed to mark a number of bikes with the bike security kits and completed more than 100 anti-social behaviour surveys with residents.”
The project will be rolled across Widnes and Runcorn in the coming months.
