HALTON MP Derek Twigg and Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans are among members in lockdown in the chamber of the House of Commons following a stabbing.
They were both inside the building as a man apparently carrying a knife charged through the gates into the front yard of the parliamentary compound.
According to the Commons leader David Lidington, a police officer was stabbed close to the Houses of Parliament.
He told MPs the alleged attacker was then shot by officers.
Reports have also stated that a car has driven into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, injuring up to 12 people.
