A WIDNES restaurant has been shut down because it posed a risk to health, Halton Council has announced today.
North Cheshire Magistrates have issued a Food Hygiene Prohibition Order against New Dragon Buffet on Albert Road in the town centre.
The order was issued after an application by Halton Council’s environmental health team following an inspection of the premises on March 8.
In the opinion of officers the premises posed an imminent risk to health.
Magistrates found that there was ‘inadequate management of food safety and hygiene, and staff who handled food had insufficient knowledge of the principles of food safety and hygiene in order to produce food that is safe for human consumption’.
Management of the premises can apply to the council for the order to be lifted once the health risk has been removed.
