THIS picture of the new Mersey Gateway taking shape was captured by Mary Hines, from St Helens.
She took the photograph from Spike Island in West Bank on March 2.
Her picture shows the central part of the main bridge deck just after construction teams reached the half way stage.
Three separate parts of the new crossing can now be seen in the Mersey estuary.
