THE Mayor and Mayoress of Halton has opened newly refurbished nursing home in Widnes.
Cllr Ged Philbin and Ros Wong joined residents, staff and relatives to unveil the new look Ferndale Mews on St Michael’s Road, Ditton.
The 34-bed home has been upgraded as part of a £100 million investment programme by owners HC One.
New facilities include a beauty salon, large reception and café.
Ferndale Mews care home manager John Holland said: “Residents, relatives and members of the care team were invited to vote for their favourite design schemes.
“They have been consulted throughout the refurbishment programme, after all it’s their home.
“The refurbishment has been completed to a high quality.”
Visitors were entertained by singers to celebrate the refurbishment.
HC-One managing director Glen Mason, said: “We are investing in our care homes to ensure quality refurbishment.
“We are delighted with the work that has been done at Ferndale Mews and welcome the community to come and have a look round.”
