Firefighters tackle van torched in arson attack on Hazel Avenue, Runcorn
A VAN was torched in an arson attack in Runcorn last night.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the burning vehicle on Hazel Avenue shortly before 11pm.
Crews say the fire in the engine compartment is believed to have been started deliberately.
Anyone with any information is should call Cheshire Police on 101 of Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
Firefighters also dealt with a blazing wheelie bin in Crow Wood Park on Bancroft Road, Widnes.
A wheelie bin was well alight on a skate ramp when crews arrive shortly before 9pm.
Firefighters used a hand held extinguisher to put out the flames.
