CHILDREN competed in the annual Halton primary schools table tennis competition at the Select Security Stadium.
Halton Table Tennis Centre hosted the event organised by community coach Frank James with volunteers from Halton Table Tennis Club.
Widnes Primary schools had 16 teams from 9 schools in the first knockout.
Six players in each team from Farnworth, St Basils, All Saints, St Bedes, St Michaels, Spinney Ave, Oakfield, Fairfield and Lunts Heath took part.
St Bede's A team beat All Saints in the final 6-0 and did not drop a game in the whole competition.
Runcorn Primary schools only had two schools and two teams with Beechwood beat Astmoor by a single game after a 3-3 tie.
The overall Halton Primary Schools Championships followed.
St Bede's went on to beat Beechwood to become Halton champions with a score of 6-0.
The Mayor of Halton Councillor Ged Philbin and Mayoress Ros Wong presented school games medals and trophies to all the winners and runners up.
