POLICE have closed down a house in Widnes after alleged drug dealing.

Cheshire Police implemented a closure order on 34 Levens Way in Ditton following numerous reports of criminal offences including anti social behaviour.

Police say these incidents directly attributed to activities at this address have had a significant impact on the local community.

The property was being rented by a 53-year-old woman who has found other accommodation.

Sergeant Leeroy Moss, of Widnes Local Policing Unit, said: “We have listened to residents’ concerns about the anti-social behaviour being committed by people connected to this address.

“We have taken positive action on their behalf and I now hope all the residents can live peacefully in their homes.

“We will always seek to take action and use police powers where there is evidence of drug activity and anti-social behaviour.

“The closure order has been imposed for three months and anyone found breaching the closure order will be prosecuted.”

The closure order was made yesterday.

The tenants must now leave the property and all windows and doors will be boarded up for a period of at least three months.

Anyone who enters the house during that time is committing an offence and can be arrested.

Residents wishing to report criminal and anti-social behaviour should call Cheshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
