A FREE food and music event is being held at The Studio on Lacey Street in Widnes.

The Rock ’n’ Bowl café is on Sunday from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Tasty winter warming food will be cooked by young volunteers from Just Chill as part of a Creativity for Life project.

Live music will be performed by rockabilly, punk, indie, folky band What's Up Doc?.

Passionate, political, protest singer-songwriter Ste Goodall who organises the We Shall Overcome events will also be on stage.

Local author Keith Fielding will be reading from his new work Incidents and Accidents or a Matter of Life and Death'.

Keith said: “These poems are for everybody. For those who may think of poems as boring or those who search for hidden meaning between the lines, they express anger, pain, grief, despair and humour.

“Age is irrelevant. Whether you are 16 or 96 I hope that there is a poem for you.”

The next rock’n’bowl event will be on Sunday, February 19 at 1.30pm.

Anyone interested in performing should contact Louise Nulty on 07930 388844 or e-mail info@thestudiowidnes.org.uk.
