AROUND 10,000 visitors flocked to Victoria Park for a fun-filled festive celebration.

Cinderella arrived with Santa in a glass carriage and was greeted by Halton Mayor Cllr Ged Philbin and Mayoress Ros Wong.

As part of Halton Council’s panto in the park, the Brindley cast performed The 12 Days of Christmas.

Trips on the glass carriage and a specially decorated Santa train kept children entertained.

Hearts and Voices Community Choir sang Christmas favourites and youngsters enjoyed donkey rides and face painting.

Halton Cllr Eddie Jones, board member for events, said: "The council organises seasonal activities to help create a true festive spirit.

"Christmas is a time when communities come together so it is wonderful to see so many people coming out to participate in and enjoy the atmosphere of this free event.

"So many happy faces and obvious community cohesion makes all of our effort in putting the event together very worthwhile."

Cinderella runs from December 12 to 15 January and stars 80s singing sensation Sonia as fairy superior and Miss British Isles, Becky Lake as Cinderella.

Tickets are available from the box office on 0151 907 8360 and thebrindley.org.uk.
