SANTA has a new float to ride round the streets of Runcorn.
Camp Project Wales, which provides holidays for disadvantaged children, has manned the float for more than 20 years.
Wes Gleave, from the charity, said: “The old much loved float was on its last legs last year but just about got us through.
“We decided to retire the old girl which meant a new float was needed.”
Engineer Nigel Musgrave, a keen Camp supporter, volunteered to undertake the task of building the new float free of charge.
The new look model was finished two weeks ago.
Wes added: “It has been decorated with lights and a new sound system has been installed and we think she is looking and sounding fantastic.
“It is much smaller than our previous float which should allow us to get around the narrower Runcorn streets more easily than in previous years.”
The charity has been providing outdoor escapes in Anglesey for children for more than 40 years.
Youngsters get the chance to canoe, swim, ride horses and play beach games.
