House fire on Wharfedale in Runcorn
FIREFIGHTERS are still on the scene of a house fire on Wharfedale in Runcorn.
Four fire engines were called to the scene of the blaze at around 4pm yesterday, Wednesday.
The crews discovered a fire in a first floor bedroom of a detached house which had spread into the building's roof.
Luckily everybody managed to get out of the house and no casualties have been reported.
Firefighters put on breathing apparatus and used a seven metre ladder to fight the flames from above.
Tiles were removed from the roof and the property's gas and electricity supplies were isolated.
Firefighters are still on the scene this morning, Thursday, damping down spots of heat and carrying out a fire investigation.
