A FIRE broke out in a steam turbine at United Utilities in Widnes yesterday, Tuesday.
Firefighters from Widnes Fire Station were called to the Mersey Valley Processing Centre on Bennetts Lane at around 5.30pm.
Crews discovered a fire in an internal steam turbine and used a hose reel jet and dry powder extinguishers to put out the flames.
A thermal imaging camera was used to locate the fire and check the surrounding equipment for signs that the heat had spread.
Luckily nobody was reported to be hurt in the incident.
