DOGGY day care has never been as glamorous as it is at a new pet crèche.

The colourful Dog Haus opened earlier this year and is the place to be seen for posh pooches, where owners can leave their beloved pets lounging on bean bags sipping herbal tea.

Owner Melissa Wavell from Cronton said she has always been passionate about working with animals since childhood.

“The business began when I saw a gap in the market for a new breed of day care – a more luxurious environment like a children’s play crèche.

“I love design and wanted to create a fun environment, not only for the dogs but also for their owners.”

Dogs of all shapes and sizes meet up at the centre, which has an in-house dog trainer and will soon offer pet grooming too.

Melissa, 28, said: “My child is, fortunately for me, a gorgeous dog! She's an orange Karashishi Shihtzu.

“She was very shy when we first opened and now I have a completely different dog, full confidence and she loves being part of the pack, whether that's with Barney the Great Dane or Rocky the Teacup Yorkie.

“Our crèche is one of a kind. We can set our self apart from the average doggy day care offering mental and physical stimulation while giving plenty of belly rubs and cuddles.

“Each dog is individually assessed when they come in and every dog has to be well socialised.”
