THOUSANDS of visitors are expected to flock to Widnes for the annual north west vintage rally at the weekend.

A record crowd of 70,000 came to last year’s event – one of the biggest free two day shows of its kind in the UK.

Hundreds of lovingly restored classic vehicles and vintage fair organs will be on display.

A programme of live entertainment promises plenty of fun for all the family.

Attractions include a spitfire ground display team, vintage funfair, Bernese mountain dogs and hand turned organs.

Various craftsmen and women will be showing their collections.

Model boats will be sailing on the lake and there will be lots of charity and trade stalls.

The rally will be open from 11am to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.

A free vintage bus will give visitors a chance to travel back in time and provides transport to and from the showground.
