A DREAM of stardom is coming true for a singing princess.

Widnes teenager Britani Humphries and her girl group Girl Next Door made it through to the six seat challenge on Sunday’s X Factor after completing bootcamp.

The 17-year-old shrieked with joy and hugged judge Louis Walsh as he was declared mentor for all the groups.

“I’m really excited,” said the 17-year-old of Kingsbury Road.

“After our audition Simon Cowell compared us to Little Mix. To be anything as big as they are would be amazing.”

Little Mix was the first girl group to win the show.

Song writer Britani was only two when she started singing and often performed when she was at Moorfield Primary School and Wade Deacon.

“I love singing and writing my own songs,” said Britani, now studying music at Cronton Sixth Form College.

Girl Next Door was formed in April 2015 by music mogul Nigel Martin-Smith as he searched for the next big girl group.

Britani, who works as a singing princess, practises harmonies with her group - Katie Hammond, 17, from Warrington, Saskia Rosimus, 19, from Bolton and Annabelle Pike, 17, from Preston - three times a week.

They rehearse at Hotsteppers dance studio in West Bank.

“We know each other so well, we’ve got great charisma and chemistry working together,” she said.

“We loved having the opportunity to work with top people in the industry at bootcamp.

“It was incredible to see the YouTube of our audition getting 300,000 views.

“A recording contract is our goal. We’d love to sell out in arenas.”

Support from her parents Julie and Fran, who runs a security business and sisters Brogan, 15, Kenya, 13, and L’Talia, four, she said, means the world to her.

Mum Julie, 41, said: “We are so proud of her. She is so passionate about anything musical.

“She has always loved to sing.”
