A MAN who died at Creamfields festival has been named by police today as married dad Joe Sheppard.

The 26-year-old from Cornwall was found dead at the annual dance festival on Friday.

A post mortem examination to establish the cause of death is set to take place tomorrow.

Police say the death is currently being treated as 'unexplained'.

Cheshire Police confirmed the news on Saturday – shortly after officers were called to one of the campsites following concerns for a man.

A constabulary spokesman said: "On Friday, August 26, we were notified following concerns for a man in one of the campsites and, sadly, a 26-year-old man from the Cornwall area passed away.

"Formal ID is to take place and we are awaiting the results of the post mortem examination to establish the cause of death.

"Our thoughts are with his family at this time."

The four-day festival finished on Sunday with police reporting a number of arrests.

Six people were detained on suspicion of supplying drugs on the first day of Creamfields.

The gates of the festival, which was held in Daresbury this weekend, opened on Thursday but Cheshire Police had arrested eight revellers with hours.

A total of six people were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, while two others have been arrested for possessing class A drugs.

Around 70,000 music fans were expected to descend on the Daresbury site over the bank holiday weekend with acts including Calvin Harris, Tiestö, Avicii and Axwell & Ingrosso on the line-up.
